"I rarely miss a Darlington Concert and only important family matters keep me away!
The gentle serenity of a Sunday afternoon with friends, neighbours and visitors is not to be missed. On my way to the hall I meet visitors on their pre-concert walk on the bridle path, all mellowed after lunch at Darlington Estate or with fiends. At interval, the knots of people chatting on the lawns, the pock, pock pock of a tennis match, the children at play in the park and the ponies which gather near the water fountain all create a special and memorable delight.
And then there is the music. It is always different, often with a piece to stretch one’s musical literacy - sometimes serious, sometimes full of whimsy. The music is chosen with the care and insight of talented musicians who perform to the highest standards.
No, I don’t miss a Darlington Concert unless I really have to, and once you have been there you will want to come again, just as I do - and it isn’t just for the treats of afternoon tea that follows the music."

"Darlington has its own Promenade Concerts during the Autumn and Winter months. We are so lucky and privileged to have access to first class professional musicians performing familiar and not so familiar pieces in our village hall. Even the pigeons nesting in the roof space seem to enjoy the entertainment.
The sumptuous after-performance tea which is included in the price of the ticket is in itself a social occasion where the audience mingle with old and new friends and artists.
The season’s programmes are always eagerly anticipated as they announce the diverse musical delights to entertain and educate us during the chilly Winter Sunday afternoons.
Hope to see you there."

"It is such a privilege and a joy to have beautiful music with the accompanying explanatory introduction performed with such perfection by the Darlington Chamber Orchestra in the intimacy of our local hall.
Not only does it allow the listeners to experience an emotional affinity with the origin of the original performances but it captures a wide Hills audience who need not travel to Perth to listen to fine music.
The new series of concerts during the winter months are eagerly awaited."
